Bold Regional News welcomes thoughtful pitches about the landscapes, foodways, crafts, customs and places that give a region its particular character.

What we welcome

Pitch a focused, evergreen story that helps a general reader understand one regional subject in its own context. We are interested in clear explanations, careful comparisons, material histories and accounts of how a custom or place is understood locally.

A useful pitch

Tell us the proposed angle, why it suits Bold Regional News, what the reader will come away understanding, and what reliable material can support the piece. Mention any relevant experience or connection to the subject, and flag uncertainty, sensitivities or commercial interests.

Before sending

Please send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. A pitch is not a guarantee of publication; we will consider its fit, clarity and support before discussing a draft.
